Dear Friends, Donors, and Supporters,
As we reflect on the year gone by, our hearts are filled with gratitude. None of the work we do would be possible without you. Your generosity, compassion, and continued belief in our mission are the reason thousands of animals received a second chance at life this past year.
Because of your donations and support throughout 2025, we were able to rescue 54 cats. 89 were spayed, 27 neutered, and 23 found loving forever homes. Sadly, we also said goodbye to 26 cats who were lost to old age and illness, each of them cared for and loved until their final moments.
Your support also allowed us to rescue 487 dogs this year. We spayed and neutered 430 of them, helped 35 find homes locally, and celebrated 153 international adoptions. At the same time, we mourned the loss of 114 dogs—mostly seniors and those who arrived with devastating injuries—who did not survive despite every effort made to save them.
Today, thanks to you, BETA is home to 1,350 dogs, 148 cats, 4 horses, 4 donkeys, 2 monkeys, 8 chickens, 1 rabbit, and 48 tortoises.
Each one of these lives depends on the continued compassion and support of people like you.
BETA is a no-kill shelter, a true safe haven where animals are given dignity, care, and time while they wait for their forever homes.
Another year has gone by, and despite continued conflict in the region, rising inflation, and countless challenges, we are still standing.
We continue to speak up for the voiceless, and as we step into a new year, the strength we begin with will depend on the kindness that walks beside us from the very start.
To our volunteers and hardworking staff, our guiding angels who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our mission continues, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your dedication, resilience, and compassion keep BETA alive every single day.
As we look ahead to 2026, we hold on to hope.
Hope for peace in our region.
Hope for education and accountability for those who continue to harm animals. Hope that abuse will finally be stopped, judged, and penalized.
And hope that many more of our animals will find the loving forever homes they deserve, where they can finally know peace and unconditional love.
