| Dear Supporter, Every September, as the school bells ring and families slip back into the rhythm of daily routines, a heartbreaking pattern repeats itself. Once again, we are seeing an increase in abandoned pets — innocent lives discarded when they are no longer seen as “useful.” Dogs who were eagerly adopted during the summer months — as playmates for children, as a way to fill time, as temporary amusement — are now being cast aside. What was once a “fun distraction” during the holidays has turned into a “burden” in the busy shuffle of school, work, and routine. But these are not toys. They are not objects to be picked up and put down at our convenience. They are living, breathing souls who feel confusion, pain, and deep loss when the only family they’ve ever known walks away. This year, the situation is even more dire. Many of the dogs coming into our care are not just abandoned but severely injured, neglected, and broken — both in body and in spirit. They arrive frightened, malnourished, some scarred from abuse or accidents, left to fend for themselves on the streets. We are doing everything we can to pick up the pieces. But our shelter is overflowing, our veterinary bills are climbing, and resources are stretched thinner than ever. Each dog we rescue requires medical care, food, shelter, and — most importantly — love and patience to help them heal. That is why we need your help. Your generosity can make the difference between despair and hope, between suffering and a second chance. A small monthly donation helps us provide food and shelter. A one-time gift can cover life-saving treatment for a severely injured dog. Together, we can show these abandoned souls that they are not forgotten, that compassion still exists. As families prepare for a new school year, let’s also prepare to teach a lesson in kindness — that every life matters, and that loyalty goes both ways. Please, open your heart. Stand with us in giving these animals the care and dignity they deserve. |
![]() Rescue of the month Nanaya is 10 years old, a gentle soul who has carried more pain than most could bear. She had a massive tumor, was weak and anemic, and infection had spread through her fragile body. Every breath, every step, was a struggle—yet her eyes still shone with quiet hope. Despite everything, Nanaya remains calm and kind, asking for nothing more than comfort, safety, and love in her final years. She deserves dignity, care, and the chance to feel that her life matters. With your help, we can ease her suffering and give her peace. ![]() Transformation of the month Jayden’s rescue was almost 9 months ago. At just 6 years old, he was abandoned, left to survive alone on the streets—hungry, sick, and heartbroken. When we took him in, he was clinging to life. Since then, Jayden has shown incredible strength. He has beaten scabies, is recovering from ehrlichia and anemia, and has slowly regained his health. His coat is softer, his eyes brighter, and his gentle tail still wags with hope whenever he sees someone kind. But one thing hasn’t changed—Jayden is still waiting for a home. Month after month, he has watched others get adopted, while he remains patient, sweet, and overlooked. Loving with people and friendly with dogs, Jayden is ready for the simple happiness of a warm bed, kind words, and a forever family. ![]() Pet of the month When we first found Tessie wandering the streets of Choueifat, she was sick, frail, and broken. Her fur was falling out, her body weak, and her eyes filled with years of silent sorrow. But thanks to your love and support, Tessie has transformed. Her fur is growing back soft and healthy, her strength is returning, and her gentle spirit shines brighter than ever. Today, she wags her tail, enjoys cuddles, and has rediscovered joy. Now Tessie is ready for the most important chapter of her journey—finding her forever home. She is calm, affectionate, and so deserving of a family who will finally give her the love she has been waiting for. |
