The situation that our organization is facing is dire.
We are reaching out to you during an incredibly challenging time. Every day, we face an overwhelming influx of animals in desperate need of care. Our resources are stretched thin, and the situation is dire. Dogs and cats are arriving in critical condition, requiring immediate medical attention and a safe space to heal. Sadly, we are only able to accommodate the most urgent cases, leaving many others without the care they deserve. These animals—once abandoned, abused, or neglected—are depending on us for a chance at a better life, but the reality is, we simply cannot keep up with the demand.
Our medical expenses are increasing as we provide life-saving care for each new arrival. Currently, we owe over $20,000 to our partnered veterinary hospital, and the bills continue to accumulate with no end in sight. Meanwhile, adoptions have nearly come to a standstill, especially for larger dogs who often struggle to find homes. Each day, we are forced to choose between feeding and providing basic care for the animals already under our care.
The aftermath of the recent war has only deepened our struggles, with many organizations, including ours, fighting to stay afloat amid the persistent economic hardship. Evacuation notices are coming through once more, airstrikes have resumed, and we’re left wondering where this leaves us. Is the war starting again? Should we prepare ourselves for another round, even though we haven’t even had the chance to recover from the last few months? We’re still reeling from the impact of what we’ve just endured.
We simply can’t endure this again, nor are we prepared to. We thought the dust had settled, that we were rebuilding what was broken—and now, to watch it all go up in flames again? It feels impossible to comprehend.
Despite these challenges, we cannot abandon our mission. The animals who have been forgotten, abused, and left behind are depending on us for a chance at a better life. Their suffering cannot be ignored, and their hope for healing must not be abandoned.
The animals already in our care are relying on us to keep our promise of being their safe haven until they find their forever homes. We cannot continue to rescue without putting their wellbeing at risk. Our capacity to care for them is directly tied to the resources we have, and without the means to sustain this work, we fear we will jeopardize the future of those we’ve already promised to protect.
That’s why we are turning to you, our compassionate community, for help. Every donation, no matter how small, will directly support our ability to continue providing the care these animals urgently need. With your support, we can continue to feed, treat, and shelter those in our care, ensuring their safety and well-being. The animals at BETA are counting on us, and we cannot do this without you.
Your generosity can make a life-changing difference. Together, we can offer these animals the love, care, and hope they deserve. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your compassion and support. We simply cannot continue this mission without you.
