About LIYAN
Liyan—a soul who has known nothing but suffering, yet still holds on to the hope that love can heal.
We found him in Koura, in a state that no living being should endure.
His body, nothing but skin and bones, trembled with the weight of years of neglect and hunger.
Liyan had spent far too much time without care, but despite all the pain, his eyes told a different story—he still wanted to live.
When we placed food in front of him, he devoured it like a creature starved for far too long, as if trying to make up for every lost meal.
But his battle didn’t end there. Along with his fragile body, we discovered Liyan was also fighting ehrlichia, a disease that made his fight for survival even harder.
Yet, through all of this, Liyan has proven to be the sweetest, most gentle soul.
When he felt the first touch of love, he melted into our arms, as if every ounce of affection was exactly what he had been yearning for.
His transformation is a reminder of why we do this work, why we never give up on the souls who need us the most. DOB: 02/02/2018
