Ishtar was shot cold bloodily…
How can a sweet innocent soul be seen as a threat to an extent that killing her would be the only solution to get rid of her!
Ishtar was found lying in her pool of blood she had found refuge under a residential building alone and afraid..
Fortunately she was found by a kind resident who reached out to us. We can only imagine what would have happened had she not been found in time.
Ishtar could barely move due to her extensive injuries, she was in agonizing pain and as a result showed signs of aggression and her pearly white teeth!
Ishtar was left with her two front legs extremely injured.
One leg broke, and the other extremely swollen and wounded from where the bullet exited her first leg!
We knew we had to act fast.
Upon arriving at our clinic, Ishtar was given IV fluids and pain medication to help relieve some of her suffering.
Once stabilized and evaluated, it was decided that amputating her leg would help save her life at this point…
Ishtar has lost a lot of blood, so much infact that she needed a blood transfusion to go ahead with surgey!
Ishtar has made a full recovery, she is no longer afraid and has warmed up to many of the shelter volunteers, always ready to welcome them with a wagging tail and a happy smile, she has left her past behind…
Ishtar is ready for her new home, ready to turn a page and start fresh… She’s good with other dogs.
