Blind Owen finds refuge on an abandoned couch !
An animal advocate in the area found sweet Owen and couldn’t turn a blind eye.
Desperate to help, she contacted us to take over his case…
The streets are no place for a dog in his condition !
Owen was rushed to the vet, he underwent all necessary tests and exams.
His blood tests came back positive for ehrlichia as well as leshmenia, his xrays show that pellets were behind his blindness which sadly means, yet another victim of a shooting has entered our shelter and to top it all off he was deemed medically emaciated !
Owen is as sweet as they get, he didn’t deserve what he got and yet here we are !
He will be put on the proper treatment for ehrlichia and on a lifelong treatment for leshmenia… we hope that with the proper care Owen will be back on his feet and deemed healthy once again.
We are fully conscious that his chances of getting adopted are slim, that he will most likely live on the rest of his days at the shelter, however we couldn’t just couldn’t let him be..
